using CSV
documents
Comma-Separated Value (CSV) documents can be uploaded to the Foodi Menus platform to add large groups of ingredients, dishes, and categories to your account in one action.
where to upload
The pages for Categories, Dishes, and Ingredients all have a CSV upload button at the bottom.
When you select the CSV Upload button it will provide you with an interface to download a CSV template, find CSV files on your computer, and submit individual documents once they're ready for upload. If you have your own CSV file ready, you can upload it here.
If you don’t have a CSV of your items prepared, we recommend downloading the template using the link provided and creating a document that matches the formatting below:
As you can see, there are a few sections to add details for each dish:
-
Name - Text
-
Description - Text
-
Price - number to two decimal places, no $
-
isAvailable - Yes or No
-
SideDishes - text with commas, no spaces between items
-
Calories - number
-
Ingredients - text with commas, no spaces between items
guidelines for uploading CSV documents
-
Make sure your CSV document follows the templates provided. If they do not, there will be issues with how items display, and your ingredients, dishes, and categories will require some manual adjustment to be sure they are connected correctly.
-
Upload your ingredients before uploading your dishes, and your dishes before uploading your categories.
-
There is no limit to the number of items you can add to your CSV document.
-
You cannot add your own sections to the CSV template or change the order of the sections. Any added or edited sections will disrupt how the items connect and display. Note: You do not need to fill out every cell in the CSV document.
